I finally stopped operating from my own expectations and started aligning my home with my values and faith

Sis, everything started to change when I finally reached a point where I couldn’t keep pretending I was okay.
I remember the moment.
The tears came.
Not the little “I’m having a rough day” tears.
I mean the kind of tears that come when you’ve been holding everything together for so long, and your body finally says, “I can’t carry this anymore.”
I started searching.
I Googled the feelings I was experiencing as a mom and wife because I needed to know…
“Is it just me?”
“Am I the only one struggling this much?”
And what I discovered changed everything.
I wasn’t alone.
There were so many women quietly carrying the same weight — overwhelmed, exhausted, trying to love their families well while feeling like they were losing themselves in the process.
That’s when God started pulling on my heart.
I began seeking Him differently.
I started reading, studying, and asking questions about the order and purpose of the home.
Not from a place of shame.
From a place of wanting to understand.
I literally grabbed a piece of paper and started mapping it all out.
What is my role?
What responsibilities did I have as a wife?
What kind of mother did I want to become?
What kind of atmosphere did I want to create in my home?
And the biggest shift came when I stopped focusing on what everyone else needed to change…
What my husband should do differently.
What my kids should stop doing.
What everyone else needed to fix.
And I started asking:
“What is my part?”
“What can I intentionally do to create the home I’m praying for?”
That one shift changed the way I approached motherhood.
I stopped trying to survive each day and started learning how to lead my home with more peace, purpose, and intention.
And sis, that journey didn’t just change my home…
It changed my vision.
For years, I dreamed about opening an indoor play space for moms and kids.
But God started opening doors in a different way.
I began creating apparel with messages to encourage moms.
I started sharing reminders that moms weren’t alone in their struggles.
And somehow, the thing I created to encourage other moms started encouraging me too.
Then I invested in business coaching, learned how to turn my passion into a purpose-driven business, and doors began opening that I never expected.
Looking back, I can see that my breaking point wasn’t the end of my story.
It was the beginning of becoming the woman and mom I was called to be.
